There are two classifications of membership
in the Sixth Ward Organization: voting and non-voting.
Voting membership is open to all residents of the Sixth
Ward who are registered voters, profess a belief in the purposes
stated in the By-laws and are current in payment of their
dues. Non-voting membership is for persons interested in
the parties, but who are not residents of the Sixth Ward,
or non-registered voters who profess a belief in the purposes
stated in the By-laws and are current in payment of dues.
For the purpose of voting, a member must be in good standing
(that is, dues must be current at the time of the vote).
Membership dues are $5 per year. The membership year shall
be the calendar year (January 1 through December 31).
Applications and payment for new membership must be submitted
to the Corresponding Secretary or Treasurer, whose duty is
to record this transaction via U.S. Mail or online. Membership
will date from receipt of dues. The Corresponding Secretary
or Treasurer will send confirmation of membership and the
membership card to the new member via U.S. Mail within one
month of receipt of dues. Membership renewals are handled
in the same way.
